About the role
Work alongside Manish to steward assets, build a rigorous investment process, and earn the confidence of long-term institutional partners. Support the lifetime ambition of managing at least $250 billion through investment quality, responsible capacity growth, and durable relationships.
What you will own
- Own investment research standards, portfolio construction, liquidity and risk frameworks, monitoring, and attribution within approved mandates and delegated authority.
- Build capital formation with a dedicated institutional team covering sovereign institutions, university endowments, pension funds, and other suitable allocators.
- Partner with independent risk, compliance, finance, and operations on records, diligence, reporting, conflicts, and investor service. Support company financing with Manish while preserving separate mandates and records.
What we need to see
- A verifiable investment record with clear personal attribution, sound risk judgment, and institutional credibility. Candidates must discuss losses, capacity limits, and incentives as clearly as successes.
Your first 90 days
- 30 days: reconcile the actual asset base and mandates; review liquidity, concentration, records, governance, and the provenance of any performance history.
- 60 days: present the investment policy, risk limits, research process, capacity assumptions, and an institution-ready diligence plan.
- 90 days: run the investment review cadence, produce a reliable reporting package, and advance qualified allocator relationships with documented next steps.
Success measures
Net performance against mandate-appropriate benchmarks; risk and liquidity; drawdowns; mandate compliance; net flows; investor retention; reporting quality.
Interview work sample
Defend an investment and a mistake using records you are permitted to share. Then design a portfolio review and allocator diligence process for a defined mandate.
Scope
Asset growth is an ambition, never a return promise. Corporate fundraising, fund capital, and customer revenue remain separate. Independent risk and compliance retain escalation access outside the CIO.
